Team NOHA Drops a Second Straight

Toronto, ON – Team NOHA has fallen to 1-2 (one win and two losses) at the 2018 OHL Cup.

Team NOHA took an early lead against the Oakville Rangers thanks to a David Campbell goal. Campbell picked up a rebound at the side of the net and roofed it on his backhand.

The first period also saw a steady march to the penalty box by Team NOHA, accumulating three separate minor penalties, resulting in a 5-on-3 power play for Oakville. Despite this, the penalty kill, led by goaltender Reece Proulx, kept Team NOHA in the game.

Oakville found their groove in the second period scoring three goals in a row, putting the game at 3-1.

Team NOHA came out with a much better effort in the third period, pressing from the very beginning and generating many chances. The team was rewarded after Hunter Brazier drove to the net and found Ethan Masson on the doorstep to put the game at 3-2.

The power play could not convert in the third period, squandering two chances to tie up the game with the extra man.

Despite a frantic effort to tie the game with the goaltender pulled, Team NOHA couldn’t find the back of the net.

Proulx made 22 saves in the losing effort for the North.

Hunter Brazier was named Player of the Game for Team NOHA.

Team NOHA will play their fourth game at the OHL Cup tomorrow afternoon against the Peterborough Jr. Petes. The game begins at 1:15pm at the Scotiabank Pond (Ice #1). The Petes are sitting at 2-0, recording wins against the Rangers and the London Jr. Knights.
