Baber and Vescio Selected for Hockey Canada U17 Development Camp

The NOHA would like to congratulate Camaryn Baber (Sault Ste. Marie, ON) and Payton Vescio (North Bay, ON) on being selected to attend the upcoming Hockey Canada National Under-17 Development Camp on July 22 to August 1, 2017 in Calgary.

Camaryn Baber is a centre who played for the Soo Greyhounds Midget AAA this past season. In 38 games played (regular season and playoffs), he had 37 goals, 32 assists, and 107 PIMs. He was drafted by the Saginaw Spirit in the 3rd Round, 57th Overall. He played for Team NOHA at the OMHA Eastern AAA Showcase, OHL Cup, and the OHL Gold Cup. He was named the NOHA Minor Midget Player of the year at the OHL Cup.

Payton Vescio is a defencemen who played for the North Bay Trappers Midget AAA this past season. In 43 games played (regular season and playoffs), he had 7 goals, 21 assists, and 24 PIMs. He was drafted by the North Bay Battalion in the 4th Round, 72nd Overall. He played for Team NOHA at the OMHA Eastern AAA Showcase, OHL Cup, and the OHL Gold Cup. Payton was a part of the Trappers team that won a bronze medal at the 2017 Central Region Midget AAA Championships in Sudbury.

The National Under-17 Development Camp brings together the top 111 players from across the country to select three teams that will compete at the 2017 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Dawson Creek and Fort St. John, B.C.
